The Killers to launch ‘Stress Machine’ album in August
The Killers will launch a brand new album in August.
The rock band introduced in a press launch Monday that it’s going to launch its seventh studio album, Stress Machine, on Aug. 13.
The Killers produced the album with Shawn Everett and Jonathan Rado, who beforehand collaborated with the group on its 2020 album, Imploding the Mirage.
The Killers frontman Brandon Flowers mentioned Stress Machine emerged from the COVID-19 pandemic after “all the things got here to this grinding halt.”
“And it was the primary time in a very long time for me that I used to be confronted with silence. And out of that silence that file started to bloom, filled with songs that might have in any other case been too quiet and drowned out by the noise of typical Killers information,” he mentioned.
Stress Machine is impressed by Nephi, Utah, the small Southwestern city the place Flowers lived from ages 10 to 16.
“We had been discussing [Brandon] transferring to Nephi as a child and being caught in the midst of nowhere,” drummer Ronnie Vannucci, Jr., mentioned. “And through COVID-19, it began to really feel like we had been in the midst of nowhere.”
“I found this grief that I hadn’t handled,” Flowers added. “Many reminiscences of my time in Nephi are tender. However the ones tied to concern or nice unhappiness had been emotionally charged. I’ve acquired extra understanding now than once we began the band, and hopefully I used to be in a position to do justice to those tales and these lives on this little city that I grew up in.”
The Killers shared cowl artwork for the album on Instagram. Photographer Wes Johnson captured the picture simply outdoors Nephi.
The Killers will promote the album with a brand new North American tour. The enterprise begins Aug. 19 in Vancouver, B.C., and ends Oct. 8 in Detroit.
