Janelle Monae recruits Beyonce, Alicia Keys for ‘Say Her Title’
Janelle Monae is again with new music.
The 35-year-old singer and actress launched a single and lyric video for the track “Say Her Title (Hell You Talmbout)” on Friday.
Monae partnered with the African American Coverage Discussion board and Professor Kimberle Crenshaw on the track, which protests police violence in opposition to Black ladies and women.
“This Worldwide Daughter’s Day and we’re proud to face with the African American Coverage Discussion board’s #SayHerName Moms Community & Kimberle Crenshaw as we honor the Black ladies and women who misplaced their lives by the hands of police,” Monae mentioned in a press release.
“We assist the tireless work that #SayHerName has been doing for years to assist carry these moms justice for his or her daughters. This work is simply too essential to do alone and might solely be sustained by our collective voices,” she added. “We take up this name to motion as daughters ourselves making an attempt to create a world the place tales like these are not commonplace.
