Iran state news: Bandits kill 4 troops close to Pakistan border



TEHRAN, Iran (AP) — Armed bandits killed 4 members of Iran’s elite Revolutionary Guard in preventing in a southern province, the official IRNA news company reported Saturday.

The report mentioned the conflict between Guard members and the bandits occurred Friday evening within the Gounic district of Sistan and Baluchistan province. The location of the preventing is a few 1,250 kilometers (775 miles) southeast of the capital Tehran. It didn’t elaborate.

The province has been the scene of occasional clashes between Baluch militants and Iranian forces. Safety forces have additionally fought with drug traffickers within the province, which is on a serious smuggling route for Afghan opium and heroin.

In April, Guard members shot useless three militants and dismantled their cell within the province.
