Walkie Stackers

Walkie stackers or pedestrian walk-behind stackers are famous equipment to handle material. You will need a walkie stacker in the material handling industry. It is a special walk-behind truck with a mast to lift pallets at several heights. People need it to lift and transport pallets in places where you do not want to use a forklift, such as a small warehouse and a storeroom.

You can use them to lift and transport small-capacity items. Feel free to use them indoors or on flat concreted floors because of their small wheels. For your convenience, different models are available. To get the latest models, check out Walkie stackers at Adaptalift Group.

Walkie Stacker Uses and Types

Walkie stackers can distribute loads differently with front legs, counter-balance weight, and straddle legs. Load distribution is their main distinguishing feature. Here are some important types of walkie stackers with their uses.

Standard Walkie Stacker

These stackers use legs located under the fork to distribute weight. Legs prove beneficial to manage and lift two pallets similarly. As a result, this machine is suitable for both transportation and stacking pallets.

Standard stackers offer a small turning circle as compared to others. Though, standard stackers can lift bottomless containers or bottomless pallets because of their legs under the forks. Remember, these are suitable for mid-level racking. Their lowest lifting height starts from 1,845mm.

Ride-On Stacker

The ride-on machine is similar to standard stackers in design. They have different controls and platforms to allow operators to ride on this stacker. To operate this walkie stacker, you should have a forklift license. Remember, you will not need a license for walk-behind units.

It comes with a 2000mm minimum height that extends to 6110mm. It is essential to check the specifications of ride-on stackers before investing money.

Walkie Straddle Stacker

These are famous in Australia for allocating total load weight on straddle legs. The legs facilitate straddling pallets to lift stackers up closer to pallets without excessive space. They are useful for low and mid-level racking applications, such as storerooms, small warehouses, and customer zone racking spaces.

When using floor stacking, you can get the advantage of straddle legs. These legs can facilitate nearby pallet stacking. Racking must be adjusted to facilitate the legs to move around or below the bottom beam supports. Its lowest lifting height starts from 3300mm to 5000mm.

Walkie Reach Stacker

Walkie reach stackers are common in different areas. Their design is similar to a straddle stacker, but it has a pantographic scissor mast. As a result, the mast can maneuver loads onward away from the body of the stacker. You can use them in loading trucks, trailers, and utility vehicles.

Similar to straddle stackers, they are useful for mid-level racking applications. Minimum and maximum heights are 2000mm and 6460mm.

Counter Balance Walkie Stacker

This stacker uses counter-balance weight for load allocation. As a result, you can use this machine in narrow aisles as compared to a straddle stacker. They are free from straddling legs other than the outside body. It is different than standard walkie stackers to lift standard pallets.

Counter-balance weight allows walkie stackers to have a total length that necessitates a major turning circle compared to other stackers. The counter-balance stackers have different lifting masts. Their minimum heights start from 2000mm to 6000mm.
